Who is Mrs. Main?

Thanks for looking at this page. First, if you haven't guessed already, my favorite color is purple! smiley

On a more serious note, I began finishing my teaching degree when my youngest child started kindergarten. I graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia in 1992. Prior to becoming a teacher I had a variety of jobs. I've been a secretary, a nursery-school teacher, self-employeed data entry/programmer, and piano teacher. I've always been actively involved in church, as I am at McConnell Baptist where I've been a member for almost 12 years.

I have two children - Sara, my oldest, who lives in Lexington, KY. My youngest, Kevin and my only grandchild, Josiah James Rhatican (3) live in Rapid City, South Dakota.

As a teacher, I believe in providing a setting which is structured with "controlled chaos" when the situation allows. I know children all learn differently and come to me at various stages of ability. It is my goal to meet them where they are and inspire them to achieve their maximum level of success. It is my firm belief that the education of a child works best when it is a collaborative effort between the school and home. Therefore, if you have questions or concerns about your child's progress, please feel free to contact me immediately!
